Eva Liebhaber — Violin
A native of Costa Rica, violinist Eva Liebhaber has been a member of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra since 2008. She holds degrees from Rice University and Arizona State University and her primary teachers include Jonathan Swartz, Radoslaw Szulc, and Kathleen Winkler.
Eva has performed as a guest with orchestras such as Orquesta Sinfónica de Minería in Mexico City, Malaysian Philharmonic in Kuala Lumpur, and New World Symphony in Miami.
In New Orleans, she is member of Compleat Stage, a new performing arts ensemble that combines different disciplines and she is also an Artistic Mentor at Anna’s Arts for Kids, an after-school program for children in Treme.
Eva has participated in summer festivals such as Jeunesses Musicales World Orchestra, Orchesterakademie aus Schloss Esterhazy, Grand Teton Music Festival, and Castleton Music Festival and has performed in Germany, Austria, France, Mexico, Costa Rica, Taiwan, Indonesia, and Malaysia.
In an orchestral setting, Eva has performed with soloists like Yo-Yo Ma, Itzhak Perlman, Gil Shaham, Midori, Vadim Gluzman, Randy Newman, and Allen Toussaint and performed under the leadership of Jahja Ling, Yakov Kreisberg, Günther Schuller, and Lorin Maazel.
